Our daily minimum staffing allows us to operate 5 Quint/engines, 1 ladder truck, 3 medics (ambulances) and a Deputy Chief vehicle. Depending on the nature of the call, fire dispatchers will send the most appropriate equipment. Some examples include: Minor medical calls (sprains, illnesses), one medic; Major medical calls (chest pains, difficulty breathing), one medic and one engine; Structure fires, two engines, one ladder truck, one medic and the Deputy Chief. Depending on the incident more equipment may be called to assist. Each apparatus that is purchased for the department is custom built to ensure the vehicle is maximized. In instances where a front line piece of equipment needs servicing, reserve equipment is placed into service. Currently, we operate 2 reserve medics and 2 reserve engines.
